Eeeek... what a week! Last Thursday, our Feasting Kits were named a London Packaging Week Innovation Awards 2026 Winner. Sanjay had such an amazing time collecting the award and meeting the organisers at the event, but the win meant so much more to us than that...
It is a wonderful achievement for our small team... mainly because of the way these kits came together.

When people see beautifully finished packaging on a shelf, it is easy to imagine that there must have been a large creative agency, a sizeable design department and an equally sizeable budget behind it. The reality at Spice Kitchen was rather different...
We are a small, independent family business, and the Feasting Kits were created through a genuine team effort. Everyone chipped in, sharing ideas, considering the practical details and offering feedback as the design developed. It was a process of pooling our skills, making thoughtful decisions and finding creative ways to bring the idea to life within the budget we had available.
That is why being recognised by the London Packaging Week Innovation Awards feels so special.
Packaging With A Purpose
We believe that packaging should do more than simply hold a product. It should give you a sense of what is waiting inside. It should tell a story, create a little anticipation and, particularly when something is being given as a present, make the recipient feel that they are about to open something genuinely special.

Our Feasting Kits were designed to bring all of that together. They needed to be practical and durable, protecting the spices and contents inside, while also feeling colourful, generous and giftable. We wanted them to stand out on the shelves of the wonderful independent retailers who stock our products, as well as catching the eye online, where customers cannot pick up a kit or experience its aromas before choosing it.
The tins are also intended to be kept and reused. Rather than creating packaging that is opened and immediately discarded, we wanted to make something that could continue to be useful – and continue bringing a little colour to your kitchen – long after the original spices have been enjoyed.
A Win For Our Whole Team
Although the award recognises the finished packaging, for us it also celebrates the people and thinking behind it.
Small businesses are used to being resourceful. We often have to work without the budgets, specialist departments and layers of support available to larger companies. But being small also gives us the freedom to collaborate closely, listen to one another and put real heart into the things we create.
The Feasting Kits are a lovely example of what can happen when a team comes together around a good idea. Every suggestion, conversation and adjustment helped us move closer to the finished result.
What Comes Next?
This award has encouraged us to keep being brave and creative with our packaging, while staying true to the warmth, generosity and family story at the heart of Spice Kitchen.
We want to continue developing products that make cooking with spices feel exciting and approachable, whether someone is an experienced cook or opening one of our kits at the beginning of their food journey. We will also keep working with brilliant collaborators and creating products that offer more than their contents alone: something to discover, enjoy, share and remember.
For now, though, we are taking a moment to celebrate this one.
A London Packaging Week Innovation Awards 2026 Winner, created with a modest budget, plenty of teamwork and a great deal of care. We could not be prouder.
