Zesty Grilled Prawns

Succulent prawns, spiced and grilled to perfection are one of our favourite reasons for being alive!


  • 700g prawns, peeled,deveined & tails left on
  • 4-6 bamboo skewers soaked in water(if using metal, then no soaking needed)
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger


  1. Mix together the olive oil, lemon zest, garlic, turmeric, sesame seeds, ground ginger, salt,and chilli powder in a bowl. Add the prawns, and combine to coat evenly with the marinade.Leave in the bowl for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, making sure you oil the grill before adding the prawns so they cook well and don’t stick.
  3. Skewer the prawns and place on the grill and cook for 3 minutes on each side.
  4. Serve immediately with a light salad.
