Black Friday – why we are opting out

Black Friday – why we are opting out

Posted on: Nov 17, 2021

We are once again choosing to opt out of the Black Friday sales frenzy.

Instead, we are doubling our donations to our amazing charity parter – Animedh Charitable Trust (ACT).
ACT is a tailoring charity in Indian, who do incredible work in empowering less privileged women to transform their lives through vocational training, imparting life skills and facilitating learning opportunities. Meaning that if you do decide to make a purchase of one of our sari wrapped tins on Black Friday, you will, in turn, be supporting their efforts.
We are all waking up to the fact that there is so much more we need to be doing to make the changes required across the globe, and we know we are far from perfect. But where we can, we are doing our bit to bring about that change.
A recent survey by the British Independent Retailers Associate (BIRA) also suggests we are not alone, with 85% if their independent retailer membership vowing to boycott the events.
Instead of silly deals and adding more chaos into a world that doesn't need more chaos right now, we pledge to offer all you – our lovely customers – only the best quality gifts and hand blended spices at a fair price all year round.
Thank you for your support,
Sanjay and Shashi x
