Liverpool Food and Drink Workshops


 

I am pleased to offer you a choice of 45 minute workshops on 16th September 2018 at Liverpool Food & Drink Festival (Sefton Park Review Field, Liverpool L17 3AD).

Spice and exploration have long gone hand-in-hand – spurring trade, decade-long colonial wars and even the discovery of the Americas – and now you can embark on an exotic culinary journey of your own. 

The class will entail:

  • Spice taste and smell masterclass - get to know your spices and spice blends. We will taste a whole range of whole dry spices to give you a detailed understanding of their flavours and the impact they will have on your dishes. 
  • Learn how to make your own fresh spice blend using a pestle and mortar and get to take it home to liven up your home cooking
  • A live cookery demonstration with tasting samples
    • Spices and spice tins will be available for purchase at the end
    • Max 15 per group. 
    • All equipment will be provided including ingredients and spices.Just bring a bottle of water with you.

    Spice Kitchen Indian Spice Masterclass 11.30am & 2.30pm
    Get to know your Indian spices with the spice experts: let us take you on a journey through key Indian spices and their flavour profiles. We will show you how to grind spices to create an authentic fresh Garam Masala blend (which will be packed for you to take home) and show you new exciting ways you can simply use our spices in your home cooking to produce great flavoured meals. We will do a live demonstration of how to cook an authentic chickpea curry and rice which you will be able to eat or take away with you. 

    Spice Kitchen Moroccan & Middle Eastern Spice Masterclass 1.00pm & 4.00pm
    Get to know your Moroccan & Middle Eastern spices with the spice experts: let us take you on a journey through key Moroccan & Middle Eastern spices and their flavour profiles. We will show you how to grind spices to create an authentic fresh Ras El Hanout blend (which will be packed for you to take home) and show you new exciting ways you can simply use our spices in your home cooking to produce great flavoured meals. We will do a live demonstration of how to cook an authentic Moroccan tagine and cous cous which you will be able to eat or take away with you. Please bring a bottle of water for taste testing!
