BIOGRAPHY

Chef Monisha Bharadwaj is an award-winning author, food historian and food writer based in London, UK. She was awarded ‘Cookery Writer of the Year’ in 2003 by the Guild of Food Writers, and her many books have been shortlisted for and won several prestigious international awards.

Monisha is a qualified chef from the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Mumbai. She started Cooking With Monisha, situated in West London, in 2004. Today it is a successful school that attracts not only the home cook but also chefs who wish to learn Chef Monisha’s brand of simple, authentic Indian cooking.

Monisha has also created and taught her popular courses at the Ashburton Cookery School in Devon, The Bertinet Kitchen in Bath, Seasoned Cookery School in south Derbyshire and at Divertimenti in Knightsbridge.

Furthermore, Monisha has been Guest Chef at several charity events, such as the BeFund Charity event at Benaras, a Michelin-star restaurant in London and at the Intercontinental Hotel, Park Lane, for the UK Medical Association.

She is often invited to judge food events and has been a judge at the Guild of Fine Food’s ‘Great Taste Awards’ for the past few years.

Monisha also holds a BA in Indian History and in 2013, she was invited to be Guest Lecturer at SOAS, University of London, to give a series of talks on ‘The History of India through its Food’.

In 2017, she worked with Kew Gardens giving talks on healing Indian ingredients, and with the British Council on 'How The British Fell in Love With Curry - a historical perspective from 1200-2017'.

In 2018, Monisha was invited by the Wellcome Collection, London, to talk about Ayurvedic nutrition as part of their exhibition, 'Ayurveda Man' and opened the South Asian Spice Box residency at Borough Market, London, with a cookery demonstration of south Indian food.

In 2019, she was invited to be a Guest Speaker on Indian food on a Cookery Legends cruise around the British Isles.

All spices will come in their own individually packed and sealed bags to retain goodness and freshness and avoid spillage during transit. This tin has a close-fitting air-tight stainless steel lid, which will keep your spices fresher for longer. It also means that the stainless steel tin can be washed easily and can also be put in the dishwasher for cleaning.

SHIPPING

  • We pride ourselves on quick dispatching and aim to ship the same day where we can.
  • We operate a strict midday cut-off for all orders
  • All delivery options operate on weekdays only, so all orders placed on a Friday will be delivered on a Monday at the earliest. We don't offer Saturday or Sunday delivery options or an option to collect.
  • We offer free shipping to all UK destinations on all total orders over £14.95. This is normally by Royal Mail 2nd Class for items up to 2kg and takes 3 - 5 working days (if there is no strike action or other national delay taking place)
  • A tracking number is provided by Royal Mail but it does not provide information en route. It only gets scanned before orders are delivered, held at depot due to non delivery or returned to us if the address is incorrect.
  • International delivery is calculated after purchase on a case by case basis. We have a placeholder £20 shipping charge however we may be in touch after purchase with an updated shipping cost.
  • We offer an expedited £1.06 1st class Royal Mail service which normally takes 1-2 working days (again, if there is no strike action or other national delay taking place)
  • We do also offer a £7.54 next day courier service with Royal Mail and Parcelforce.
  • From time to time, we do make mistakes and miss your express shipping options, and also fall out of stock after you have placed your order. We will try and refund you for any extra shipping on these occasions or in full as soon as possible.
  • For international orders, buyers are liable for all import taxes, custom charges and VAT for international orders, and also for any orders returned to us after non collection or customs refusal. Failure to do this may result in items not being requested to be released, destroyed or further legal action.

RETURNS

  • For non faulty items, return postage is at the buyers expense, though a full refund on the item cost will be given. Refunds will be given on all items within 7 days of receipt, subject to them being in an unused condition.
  • For faulty items, items can be returned to us using our Tracked Returns service: http://www.royalmail.com/track-my-return/create/4250
  • A collection can be then organised using this link: https://send.royalmail.com/collect/youritems
  • For faulty items, refunds will not be issued under any circumstances should the items not be returned to us.
  • For faulty items we exercise the right to offer a replacement or full refund.
  • Items are no longer eligible for return after 7 days of purchase and are considered final sale.
  • Refunds are credited to the original form of payment.
  • Any fees associated with shipping will not be refunded (unless the item is faulty). We reserve the right to charge a £5 fee to cover our outgoing postage and packing costs for non faulty items.
  • Threats of negative reviews in order to push for refunds or other outcomes will not be tolerated under any circumstances and will negate any offer for a replacement or refund.
